Child Welfare Reform is a situation that needs to be addressed aggressively by our legislators. As a candidate for Governor, it is the responsibility of myself to present to the people my standings and ideas on all issues, especially one of such magnitude as this is. Not only are the in place laws unconstitutional, they are malicious in nature, do not allow for accountability, are set up for the punishment of parents and not for the protection of children. I believe that some sort of program is necessary for the protection of the truly violated children who are present in our state, however, it should not come at the expense of perfectly normal and capable families. A disgruntled society is beginning to form together amongst the population in order to bring these situations to light and make attempts at true reform. As Governor, I would lead this issue to the table for legislators to prompt the changes needed for reform. I have written a Bill which I would immediately present to the Indiana House for consideration and would consistently hound these legislators until this Bill has been passed. The overstepping of powers that be in their current form would immediately cease and implementation of an accountability law would be in place. Key Benefits
